Project Description

Better 3D Lab had worked with a local vet hospital to capture X-ray scanned slices of a full porpoise skeleton (a small toothed whale very closely related to oceanic dolphins). We then created the 3D images of every single bone from the CT results, followed by serious digital anatomy work to put them together.  With the technology of our full-colour 3D printer, we finally created two miniature skeletons of this Taiwanese native sea mammal.

This is a project for the FormosaCetus Research & Conservation Group and the result was exhibited in an international conservation conference in 2011.
